Camden City Budget Updates

City council recently rejected the budget proposed by Mayor Dana Redd– which included at 23% increase in municipal property taxes in the city. The cause for tax hikes was an added effort to close the city budget deficit and give them the ability to rehire some laid off police officers and firefighters. Department of Homeland Security gave the city a $5.1 million dollar federal grant through FEMA to be used for fire and rescue use.
