Farnham Park is one of my favorite spots in Camden. It was originally Forest Hill Park, but was renamed in appreciation of Farnham who served as the City Engineer for 30 years and died in 1923. The park used to include a lower area which had a pool and athletic fields, but has since been flooded by the Cooper River. There’s even a ‘house on the water’ which is a small, old brick structure that is partially submerged in the previous field. Just last year the park had a $1 million renovation and has new playground equipment and other nice things. This postcard shows the public pool that used to be in Farnham and how popular of a space it was.
