This article highlights Bryan Morton, a local Camden guy who was born and raised here. He has in the last year or two revived the North Camden Little League, where about 100 kids play baseball in North Camden. I remember meeting him one of the first days I got to Camden last year, and he really knows his stuff. I asked him what he thought, out of all of Camden’s problems, what do we do first, where do we start? He said the best answer I’ve heard yet: It all starts with Community. Although there’s tons of things Camden needs (better schools, more police, jobs, updated infrastructure, better family life, less drugs, less violence) fixing those issues would be isolated events if community is not the focus. Camden needs money, but money doesn’t fix everything. Things get done when people work together to create change and a better city for themselves to live in.
