Broadway & Federal Sts- Then and Now

Broadway, once called “the Mall of South Jersey”, is the main north-south road in Camden. Our own Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is on Broadway, you’re familiar with the area if you’ve been here on a service retreat. Broadway starts near the Ben Franklin Bridge and goes all the way down to Gloucester City. It was once known for its plethora of stores and shops, theaters and churches.  The decline of the city held a similar fate for the once busy stores on Broadway.
